West Texas High
Mission Statement, Goals, and Objectives
We believe that all children can learn. While recognizing that individual differences exist, we expect each child to master, to the extent possible, the essential elements and extended curriculum objectives, thereby providing success, which will help, establish and maintain a feeling of self-worth.
We believe that the purpose of the educational program is to serve the requirements of the students and the society in which he or she resides. Therefore, the activities, school policies and curriculum must be broad enough to meet the needs, interests and aptitudes of each student.
We believe that the public school, in cooperation with the home and the community, has the responsibility to instill democratic values and to provide the guidance and the opportunity to develop good character and citizenship. We further believe that students need to learn to respect the rights of others, to be courteous, to maintain a high moral code, and to respect authority.
We believe that educators, students and parents should have mutual respect and understanding of each other’s responsibilities in the educational process.
