In spelling, the students are required to proofread words for errors in spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. They must also complete a vocabulary section in which they must know over 350 vocabulary words. They are also tested on their ability to accurately spell over 1200 words. It is very time consuming and takes much practice and diligence on the part of the participants.
