Students may be exempt from semester exams provided they meet the following standards:
A. Passing the class.
1) 1 absence - Grade of 80
2) 2 absences - Grade of 85
3) 3 absences - Grade of 90
B. No incomplete work.
C. No more than three absences during the semester.
D. No more than three tardies during the semester.
E. No disciplinary referrals to the office.
F. No unpaid fees or charges.
Major disciplinary referrals (usually those who would cause a student to be assigned In School Suspension) and unpaid fees and charges will cause a student to lose his or her exemption from final exams in all classes. Other standards are for each individual class.
School sponsored absences do not count against
exemptions. A school-sponsored trip is a field trip, a class trip or trip
where a student is actively engaged in an athletic competition. Medical absences with a note verifying an office visit will no count against exemptions.
Family emergencies, which are verified with the principal, will not count against exemptions. All other absences will count.
